It doesn't make sense that Leo would be fearful of a simple witch, Neena is probably a hybrid of a witch and something else. Maybe the spawn of a witch and a darklighter or a witch and demon. Flame Throwing is a demonic power, it either means Neena is part demon or stole the power from a demon. Also, Leo says she used to be good, it is possible Isabel is a past life of Neena's not Neena herself. Also, maybe Neena was originally a good witch but was swayed to evil after learning she was a witch via the 48 hour window.

    What else happened??

    Felix (Tuesday, 15 March 2011 12:05)

Leo says shes "The first witch" which I think means she was the first witch ever and gave magic to all witches meaning she would be super powerfull.

Ps: Issue 9 is called "The All or Nothing"

I don't know why I feel really bad posting spoilers just incase someone reads them, but I guess thats the point of this area so here it goes. KYLE IS KILLED, well at least shot with a darklighter arrow, then orbed away by Neena. Theres a huge battle between demons and elders on the Golden Gate bridge and piper is sent the vortez we all knew about.

    chloefan03 (Tuesday, 15 March 2011 12:35)

thanks! wow! it's very exciting! but i feel bad for Kyle...and is the batttle impressive (i mean with the art)?

    Felix (Tuesday, 15 March 2011 12:42)

YES! The art is beautiful through the entire comic. The battle was also very well done although I never knew so many demons had wings or could fly haha. The Golden Gate bridge is a lovely place for the battle. In order I'd say the artist's best liknesses are Paige, Piper, phoebe.

In the episode "we all scream for ice cream" there is the Nothing. It may have something to do with the issue according to GlennVP. Maybe piper was sent there http://charmed.wikia.com/wiki/The_Nothing

  • #12

    Felix (Tuesday, 15 March 2011 14:34)

I think you could be right about "The nothing" because in the wiki it says "It has the power to swallow everything that comes inside the Ice Cream Mans van whether it's good or evil." and it's invincible. In the description of issue 9 it swya "An unstoppable force about to wreak havoc on the world!".

Ps: You should create a "Issue 9 speculation/Prediction" page for people to talk about this kind of stuff (Just a suggestion).

Really if he hadent saidit was soo spoilery no one would even have put the whole nothing creature with it

  • #23

    StoryGirl83 (Wednesday, 16 March 2011 15:01)

@john p3 - The powers used are orbing, dark orbing, and two of Neena's powers from issue #1 along with Neena is doing something with her hands, making them light up, at one point.

Now, I know this is the spoiler page, but if you don't want to be REALLY spoiled, stop reading, because the rest of this post is definitely that.

Piper and Phoebe are trying to ward off an attack from Rennek and a demon of some sort while Paige is checking on one of the two victims. Presumably they already know that the whitelighter is dead. Paige determines that the girl is dead, but she realizes the girl’s unborn baby is still alive. As Piper throws some sort of potion bottle at the demon, vanquishing it, Paige orbs the baby out of the girls stomach and thankfully it works. The baby boy is all right. Rennek takes the opportunity to use some sort of vial to get bubbles out of the dead whitelighter, probably a representation of the whitelighter’s powers and dark orbs out, having gotten what he came for. Paige returns to her sisters and introduces them to the newborn. She tells them she will go see her old boss, Bob Cowan and ask for his help in dealing with the newborn.

Later after having gone to see Mr. Cowan, Paige has brought home the little boy and he’s sound asleep between Kat and Tam. Henry is expressing worry over keeping the boy there to which Paige protests that “Isn’t this the reason we signed up to be foster parents in the first place?” Henry tells her that was before their wonderful but unexpected bundles of joy. When asked what they will do if Bob can’t find the girl’s family, Paige says “Then we’ll do what we have to for Little Henry.” Apparently, she named him without letting her husband know. Henry goes on about not being able to afford another kid and Paige presses feeling that this isn’t the big thing bothering him. Henry admits to being worried about the darklighter coming after Paige and the girls, though Paige isn’t worried, especially since the girls haven’t even come into their powers. Henry isn’t convinced and Paige cracks a joke, trying to defuse the situation. She does mention feeling guilty that she couldn’t save “Little Henry’s” mother and that she couldn’t save Brent a few months back and explains that stuff like this is why she helps out at Magic School.

Rennek returns to Neena and in response to Rennek telling her he didn’t engage the Charmed Ones, she makes a curious comment. “I wanted to keep them out of this. Wouldn’t left them out of it entirely if I didn’t need to divide the Source’s power to make my army strong enough.” Still whatever he plan is, Rennek clearly knows it and clearly doesn’t object. He does, however, distrust her, and he confirms that she did indeed kill Hogan (if there was any doubt). Rennek points out that the demons are going to figure this whole thing out eventually, but Neena isn’t worried. It won’t be soon enough. Neena is ready to start the next phase of the plan.

  • #24

    StoryGirl83 (Wednesday, 16 March 2011 15:02)

Apparently there is a character limit and I passed it, so here's the other two scenes:

Meanwhile Paige is trying to find out what’s been bugging Henry. She points out that he’s been distant for months, which he denies, but when she points out that he’s pulled away from her and stopped holding the girls as much, he admits that he’s afraid . . . of everything. He’s quick to assure her that he loves both her and the girls, but it worries him that he feels so powerless. And he’s afraid of bringing up a mortal child in this environment if they don’t find the girl’s family. That’s when Piper calls and tells Paige to turn on the tv. On the tv there is a report of fog surrounding the Golden Gate Bridge and closing it off because of falling debris. Piper asserts that they need to get there as soon as possible and Leo will meet them there. Paige says good-bye to Henry and goes off to get her sisters.

When they arrive at the bridge they find a battle going on between the elders (three are seen) and Neena’s group. The sisters decide to go after Neena first since she’s clearly in charge. A demon comes at them and they duck for cover. Neena grabs Kyle and has Rennek shoot Kyle with his bow. Orb things exit Kyle, probably his powers. The sisters reach Neena as she’s holding a limp Kyle by the robe. Clearly both she and the robe are strong. Neena greets them and then says good bye, using the powers she used in the first episode to shove them back. Paige orbs out as her sisters fall. Piper falls right into one of Neena’s portals. Paige tries to orb Piper to her, but Phoebe tells her to orb them down so they can at least find Piper’s body. Down on the ground they find debris, but no Piper and then Leo arrives. He explains that he had trouble getting past the police who have blocked off the bridge. Paige and Phoebe start to explain when happened when they see Neena and point her out to Leo. Leo tells them that they have to get out of there now and Paige orbs them to the manor where Leo explains that Neena wasn’t evil before now. “She’s a witch, just like you. Well, actually, that’s not true at all. She’s not just a witch. She’s the first witch.”

    Felix (Wednesday, 16 March 2011 17:12)

I hope Neena doesn't leave too soon. I think she's a really good antagonist. she's mysterious, and interesting. She's not the typical bad guy that just wants to kill the charmed ones.

  • #30

    Courtney (Wednesday, 16 March 2011 17:20)

Love it! Ruditis is officially saving Charmed from the wreck it kinda became the last few seasons.

Can't wait to read this in volume 2.

  • #31

    StoryGirl83 (Thursday, 17 March 2011 02:22)

@Felix - I'll say. Considering, she wanted to leave the Charmed Ones out of this entirely, she definitely is different. She clearly has no problem with killing, but it is a curious thing that she would want to not involve them if she could have.

And to all those, who said "thanks", your welcome. I'm not sure I want to do that next time, at least not the day it comes out, but I'm glad you enjoyed that.

  • #32

    charmedcomicfan (Thursday, 17 March 2011 09:29)

maybe she has a spesific plan that may not be either good or bad but MUST be done either if that means she has to partner with evil side or has to do some evil deeds

  • #33

    HalliwellManor (Thursday, 17 March 2011 10:42)

There is probably going to be some totally silly twist where Neena ends up being good and is only using Rennek and demons to protect good witches and her entire species of witches.

    @Courtney You're a fool.

@HalliwellManor - She can't be good if she's killing elders

  • #36

    Terry (Thursday, 17 March 2011 21:43)

I hate to say, but I really don't like this "First Witch" business. Feels way more "Buffy" than "Charmed". So what? Was she created? Was she one of the Elders' experiments gone wrong? Did they miscalculate and give her too much (and too many) power(s), including immortality?

I do not dig. Witches shouldn't just have popped up from the ether. It feels wrong. *groan*

And if she wasn't created by the Elders, she should be dead, right? Because as the first witch, she had no peers to turn to, no one to teach her the dangers of the world. So she should've been a far easier prey to demons than "today"'s witches. She should be dead.

I'm really feeling bad about this, because 1) I don't like to denigrate other people's work and 2) I usually love Paul's books. Maybe it's because I can't see where this is going and I don't like that. I dunno. May the future hold good surprises.

  • #37

    Terry (Thursday, 17 March 2011 21:47)

Another thing bothering me is the whole Angel of Destiny business.

If Neena never intended to draw the Charmed Ones in, why would the Angel pop in in the first issue? Or wasn't she talking about the sisters when she said (paraphrase) "The enemy you conspiry against have fulfilled their destiny." If not, then who did she mean? The Charmed Ones are the only ones we were ever aware had a real destiny, lol

I know I'm rambling, but I need to vent, but I WANT to love this story, but this issue was just off :-(

  • #38

    Terry (Thursday, 17 March 2011 21:48)

Also, being an Angel of Destiny and all that, and, as Paul wrote it in Issue 0, "having the knowledge of all things", shouldn't that one in Issue 1 have known Neena wasn't a demon but the first witch.

Something is not adding up. *grumble*

    Sorry for the triple post.

  • #39

    charmedcomicfan (Thursday, 17 March 2011 22:14)

i know exactly what you mean. When i saw "first witch" my mind went to "first slayer" from buffy. Well they say that originals are always the best so maybe being the first witch means that neena is far greater in power that an average witch (even having immortality) or she may have stolen immortality from a creature that has (cupid, whitelighter etc)
As for neena not intenting to involve the charmed ones, probably the AOD already knew that Neena will eventually involve the charmed ones since she was killing their past innocents and then as said in issue 8 had to lure them to kill the Source for her in order to share its power.

  • #40

    Mr. Jay (Friday, 18 March 2011 07:29)

What exactly was the purpose of killing past victims? Like, how did Britanny get killed? Is that part of the story wrapped up, because it still needs closure.

  • #41

    Terry (Friday, 18 March 2011 08:34)

@Jay, that was actually explained in Issue 5. Neena said she needed to collect the blood of the innocents while they were still alive. She never meant to kill them. It's Hogan who decided to have fun and kill them.

The Innocents' blood actually served two purposes: they used it to summon The Source's essence into the Golem, and Neena used it to share The Source's powers amongst the other demons.

So that part was actually wrapped up, it's just the sisters who don't know what really happened.

  • #42

    Mr. Jay (Friday, 18 March 2011 15:11)

    @Terry

But that doesn't explain how Brittany aged.

  • #43

    Terry (Friday, 18 March 2011 16:17)

That one was explained in Issue 3... The sisters found an entry in the Book of Shadows telling them that sometimes, when an innocent is affected by evil magic, the same effect will reveal itself again at their death. So when Hogan killed Brittany, she once again turned old like when Javna had attacked her.

  • #44

    HalliwellManor (Friday, 18 March 2011 16:43)

@Felix Neena could be good, I know killing Elders makes her look totally evil but it could all be for the greater good, part of the Grand Design like how Leo had to be taken away from Piper.

  • #45

    HalliwellManor (Friday, 18 March 2011 16:52)

I know this is far fetched and way out there but what if "first witch" is being totally misinterpreted? For some reason I think it may tie into the "first born witch is always the most powerful, magic of the first born witch is viewed as the strongest". I also think Prue may return for some reason because of the whole first witch thing.

  • #46

    Felix (Saturday, 19 March 2011 07:22)

I doubt prue will come back in issue 9

  • #47

    charmedcomicfan (Saturday, 19 March 2011 07:43)

why should she return? nothing has been mentioned about her so far or hinted. (i think its too early) and prue is just random in this whole arc

  • #48

    Shane (Saturday, 19 March 2011 14:45)

I don't like the whole "First witch" thing either. It's definantally not Charmed. And it doesn't even make sense. The whole "First witch" thing is way too Buffy/Vampire diaries. How can the Charmed Ones even go up against the first witch ever created? Obviously she is more powerful than them. Anyways, I think she is neither good nor bad, just killing elders/demons to get what she needs, whatever that is.

I don't see Prue coming into the story any time soon, and honestly, I don't want her to.

  • #49

    JoshingAbout (Saturday, 19 March 2011 15:31)

I, personally, am loving the idea of "the First Witch". It's new (for Charmed) and it's adding to the mythos of the Charmedverse. I wonder if Isobel and Victoria were some of Neena's past lives, but her first life was the life of the First Witch? This may make sense, as Neena has extensive knowledge of ancient magic (remaking the Source as a Golem and dividing his power among the Underworld).

I think that Neena didn't want to go against the Charmed Ones because they may be the only ones capable of stopping her? She's done an Eames and gained access to the Heavens, so the Elders might be screwed if she has their Lightning power (as that can kill other Elders). The Power of Three is supposed to be the most powerful good witch magic of all time, possibly even moreso than the original source of witch magic.

  • #50

    Terry (Saturday, 19 March 2011 15:57)

@Shane: What exactly is your definition of evil? To me, doing whatever you please, killing who/whatever gets in your way, to get whatever it is you seek, to me THAT is evil. It is in a way even worse than demons, because demons follow their nature, whether Neena/Isabel/Victoria does so willingly: she has it all planned. She LET innocents be killed, and even if she wasn't the one that killed them, she's as guilty as the one who did. She is evil, even if her motive is "pure", or whatever. You don't just balance a good motive by a wrong action. Wasn't this the Charmed Ones themselves who said, An evil action done for a good reason remains an evil action? or something along those lines.

  • #51

    Terry (Saturday, 19 March 2011 15:59)

There, Phoebe said it: "The wrong thing done for the right reason is still the wrong thing."

  • #52

    Felix (Saturday, 19 March 2011 18:39)

@JoshingAbout - I agree with josh. I like the idea of "The first witch"

  • #53

    Felix (Saturday, 19 March 2011 18:43)

I wrote a kind of fanfiction explanation of the first witch from leo to the Charmed ones. Here it is:

Centuries ago when there where no witches, Demons and creatures of the underworld ruled the land. “Up there” didn’t exist yet and Elders lived in hiding, afraid. They where in constant danger so they pooled as much power as they could and created mother of all witches named Isabel so she could protect them. This witch spent decades fending of constant attacks on the Elders, in the process falling in love with one of them. Once the Elders power had grown strong enough they created “Up there” so they could live in peace and safety. Isabel asked if she could live up there with them, to be with the man she loved as payment for protecting them, but the Elders refused and instead gave her the gift of eternal youth and immortality. Isabel was devastated but accepted as she didn’t have another option. She went on to have many children over hundreds of years. She would guide witches and help good magic whenever possible. However she disappeared 50 years ago along with the Elder she was in love with.

(The Elders found them living together and either got rid of or wiped the elders memory like they did for leo once so she got angry at the elders and now is getting revenge)

  • #54

    Shane (Saturday, 19 March 2011 19:11)

@Terry. Just because someone isn't "good", doesn't mean they're "evil". I think that a 2,000+ year old witch wouldn't give a damn about personal gain or the elders. Think back to season 6, when Phoebe and Paige let those demons kill Phoebe's old friend from high school, and in season 8 when Piper was willing to kill Christy. Sometimes witches have to make sacrafices to get what they want.

Also, think back to the previous issue when Neena said she wasn't trying to kill those innocents, that it was Hogan. That says a lot about her morality.

  • #55

    HalliwellManor (Saturday, 19 March 2011 19:15)

Neena has not yet killed anyone good witch or good magical beings with her own hands or powers. She summoned the Source knowing the sisters would defeat him, allowing her to absorb his powers. She then worked with Rennek to absorb Elder powers, it is clear she is trying to neutralize magic and claim all magic, she wants to be Queen of All Magic. Also, "pink is for girls, blue is for boys" Really? It's 2011 and people still think like this? Wow, such a disappointment for the youth of the world. Colors know no gender limits or barriers, only people do. GROW UP.

  • #56

    Shane (Saturday, 19 March 2011 19:34)

  • #58

    p3nathan (Wednesday, 23 March 2011 06:28)

It's possible I suppose, although I think raising a mortal amongst magical beings could actually be a much more interesting story

  • #59

    Terry (Wednesday, 23 March 2011 10:10)

I dunno. I'd like him to be a witch, too. Learn that in fact the homeless teen was the dead Whitelighter's charge, and not the guy who ran off. Or maybe both were.

Anyway, while having a mortal son might make some good human-human interaction between Henry Sr and Henry Jr, and some "But I wanna fight like my sisters, I want revenge" and "You don't have any powers!" kinda scenes, discovering that he has totally Halliwell/Warren-unrelated powers would be refreshing.

I still believe she should have taken him to the hospital first, instead of social services, though. Even though she could heal any damaged inflicted to him during the attack, she can't know wheter he's premature or not. And she can't heal illnesses.

  • #60

    Mr. Jay (Wednesday, 23 March 2011 13:46)

I'm sure that Social Services made sure that the baby was healthy before letting Paige take him home.

  • #61

    Witchyboy (Sunday, 27 March 2011 22:44)

I think with the "first witch" thing there could be some real potential. As some have already said, she is probably way to powerfull for them. Maybe... They could have a kinda conference with the elders to talk about Neena. The Elders could decide to let the Charmed Ones reach their full potential. Give Piper "almost" full molecular manipulation (as you know molecules r powerful). Give Paige more powerful telekinesis. And give Phoebe (my favorite :) Flight, seer level visions, more powerful empathy, and some new power like telepathy, astral projection, on probability manipulation. :)

  • #62

    charmedcomicfan (Wednesday, 30 March 2011 08:04)

i think we can assume the social services have doctors there so probably because the facilities were near Paige thought of going there fast

  • #63

    CharmedFreak (Monday, 11 April 2011 14:38)

I would love it if Prue would be able to make an appearance. She could Astral project her spirit into the real world be able to give the Charmed Ones information about how who is plotting against them. Also, prue was the only one who was stated to be a "Superwitch" while the others were not as powerful. Prue could be a LOT of help in the Charmed Ones situation. That way, a Charmed Ones group consisting of Prue, Phoebe and Paige could use "To call a lost witch spell" and manage to bring Piper back, thus resulting in Prue remaining to be a spirit. It's a win win situation.
